This spring, we are launching the second season of the "Biljarnica" program in cooperation with Momcilo Antonijevic, who is the author of this unique program in our region because he systematically deals with the topics of recognizing medicinal plants, ways of picking and recognizing them in nature, use and combination. By profession a journalist, the founder of the popular blog Snaga bilja and a folk herbalist, for more than 20 years Momcilo's mission has been to educate about the power of plants and bring people closer to nature.
The program is designed to encourage students to bring a dose of nature into their daily lives in order to improve the quality of life and contribute to their health, but also to meet and socialize with other people who enjoy nature, wealth and knowledge it offers. Through Biljarnica, we will learn about different ways to naturally contribute to the strength of our immunity, and thus the quality of life.
The specificity of this program is that if you are not able to personally watch the program live, you can attend the online version of the Biljarnica program, at any time, no matter where you are. All participants are provided with a link to a recorded lecture that only they will be able to access. Online students also have the opportunity to interact with the lecturer so that they can ask questions that will be answered in the next lecture. Unlike the group that will follow the lectures in real time, the number of participants in the online version of the course is not limited.
During the six-week program, from the end of May to the beginning of July 2022, which consists of lectures as well as the practice of recognizing wild plants in nature, participants will have 10 sessions (six double lectures every Wednesday afternoon) and four nature trips (near Belgrade on Saturdays) in which they will have the opportunity to get to know medicinal plants in their natural habitat, to learn to distinguish them from similar species and to master the techniques of picking, drying and using plants.

Some of the topics that we will cover during the Biljarnica are: What are medicinal plants, by what mechanisms do they affect our health? How, where and when are plants harvested? How are they dried and stored? What is their shelf life? How and from which plants are infusions, decoctions, tinctures, oil macerates and balms made? How to grow medicinal plants in urban and rural conditions and how to turn plant cultivation into a business? Medicinal plants in agriculture / natural fertilizers and insecticides /. How to use medicinal and wild plants in the kitchen? Principles of aromatherapy and other related topics.
Participants will receive practical advice from a mentor who has many years of practice in the collection and use of medicinal herbs, so that you can eventually make herbal preparations that you can use for personal use at home. During the program, we emphasize that it is very important to know that herbs cannot always help us and that they should not replace going to the doctor. Traditional and modern medicine should go hand in hand. We can primarily use plants to work on our health, they should be a daily habit and prevention, especially if we live a hectic life in a polluted environment.
