As less pesticides and insecticides are used in cities than in rural areas where agricultural production predominates, bees in urban areas survive and become less endangered. The quality of honey produced by bees from the territory of Belgrade is of satisfactory quality for human use according to all food standards, experts from the Faculty of Agriculture in Zemun and the Faculty of Chemistry have confirmed. In order to preserve city bees and other useful insects, we are creating city beehives in the area of Belgrade, as well as educating new beekeepers in a responsible way.
Since spatial and technical predispositions are necessary for the formation of beehives, our team goes out on the field and gives an assessment of the possibility of setting up hives on the location. As part of the formation of beehives, we also offer the service of adapting the surrounding green area to the needs of bees and local biodiversity.
