"Biljarnica" (The Herbology School) is a herbal medicine school where participants acquire knowledge about the identification and use of these powerful gifts of nature over a two-month period.
Medicinal herbs grow abundantly throughout Serbia, yet knowledge of their use and proper application is becoming increasingly scarce. "Biljarnica" was born from our desire to contribute to the preservation of this knowledge and to make it accessible to everyone.

During this course, which repeats every season in late spring and early summer and consists of both theoretical lessons and practical experience in nature, participants have the opportunity to become acquainted with medicinal plants in their natural habitats. They learn to differentiate them from similar species and master techniques for harvesting and drying herbs. Additionally, they gain knowledge about the mechanisms by which these plants impact our health, which herbs are best to use at different times, and in what ways – from teas and herbal blends to tinctures, aromatherapy, and even culinary uses of medicinal herbs.
Guiding participants through the magical world of powerful plants is our renowned folk herbalist and journalist, Momčilo Antonijević. Momčilo has been working with medicinal herbs for nearly 30 years, since as far back as 1993. He serves as the editor of the website and YouTube channel "Snaga bilja" - ("The power of plants") dedicated to the study of the medicinal properties, use, and collection of herbs. He also writes a regular column about medicinal herbs in the daily newspaper "Blic" and appears as a guest every Tuesday on the morning program of RTS1 (Radio Television of Serbia).

"Biljarnica" is organized in collaboration with the creative hub “Nova Iskra”. The course takes place once a year, from late May to early July. contact us zdravac@ekonaut.org for additional information.
